it's official..i'm the worst blogger ever! i haven't posted anything in a lonnnng time partly due to my disease of acute laziness and the fact that i've been busy with work/school, but mostly due to my disease of acute laziness. but now that i'm semi-cured i thought it would be about time i had a new post.

On a previous post i mentioned how much i'm into reggae at the moment and i promised to do a future post on reggae again. Well here it is. Most people associate reggae with Bob Marley, as they should since he was the one who put it on the map for the rest of the world, but he was not and is not the only reggae artist. But instead of focusing on past reggae artist i thought it would be appropriate to do a post on current ones. So before I promised an electronic/a post and here it is. I really got into electronic/house/dance music when I first heard M.I.A's track "Galang" back in 2003. I fell in love with that song (and M.I.A) from that moment on. I kinda wanted to hear some more and ventured into electronic music via M.I.A. Artists like Daft Punk, Ladytron,Basement Jaxx , Bjork and countless others have become staples on my iTunes.

So while i was listening to some songs to post on my last post, i kept bumping into some really awesome african music. To be honest growing up i HATED african music (I'm Kenyan)...and couldn't stand it but now that i'm semi-mature and semi-wiser i've come to not only appreciate it but love it. Well almost all of it...lol
But a new generation of African Artists have emerged that have made renew my interest in my country. The whole point of this blog is to give a forum to otherwise unheard or underrepresented music. I want to educate as well as entertain.

i've been really inspired by reggae music recently. i don't know what it is is about it (possibly the rawness and politically charged lyrics) that make me want to just get up & protest something. Anyway i've been updating my reggae playlist and thought it would be fitting to share some of my favorites and classic. This is a crash course for those who are not familiar with reggae and for those who are well consider this review.
